2 house auctions in 1 day, both sold online

Selling property amid COVID-19 is tough, but we're helping owners get it done.

Online auctions became a spectator sport at BresicWhitney this week with a number of people tuning in to see two houses sell under the hammer on Friday.

Will Pereira sold both homes to strong competition and 4 bidders on each.

The auctions were hosted via video conference, as 16 Denning Street, Petersham sold for $1,555,000, while 32 Morgan Street, Petersham sold for $1,675,000.

More facts about selling amid COVID-19 at BresicWhitney:

– We’ll hit 60 transactions for sellers this month
– That’s on track to outperform April last year
– Sales are tracking about 15 a week right now

Other moments to call out:

Our Eastern Suburbs buyers still have eyes for the Inner West. Luke Grosvenor sold 99 Nelson Street, Annandale after 19 inspections, to buyers who just sold in Bondi.

With FaceTime appointments proving to be a hit, Guido Scatizzi sold 605/105-113 Campbell Street, Surry Hills to home hunters from London, who bought via video conference for $715,000.

At 60 Gordon Street, Paddington, Emily Davidson had a buyer for a home about to be pulled from the market. She got both seller and buyer come together at $2 million.

Renae Dickey sold 406/1 Larkin Street, Camperdown to an investor looking in Glebe. With no traction at $800,000 guide, it was adjusted to $700,000, which created competition back up to $760,000.

Brad Papaellinas sold 144/83-93 Dalmeny Avenue, Rosebery for $945,000. With the most recent 3-bed sale in the complex 2 weeks earlier for $875,000, this saw 17 qualified buyers inspect in one week, and solid competition.

239 Balmain Road, Lilyfield sold for $1,575,000 with Renae Dickey from Glebe introducing the buyer to Adrian Oddi’s listing. It was the third sale in Balmain in 48 hours to come about through cross-promoting by BresicWhitney agents.

Another was 47 Mort Street, Balmain, where John Yannakis introduced the buyer to Taryn Varcoe’s listing for $1,443,750.

Brandon Nguyen also sold 6 Church Street, Balmain for $1.57 million. Another sale that came about through assisting buyers, it would still be online if simply relying on the portals.

1/342A Marrickville Road, Marrickville sold for $925,000 with Joey Ferreira’s buyer making a stand-out offer to take this apartment off the market.

And Christopher Breedon sold a renovated city home and ex-Airbnb listing at 160 Liverpool Street, Darlinghurst for $1.55 million.

It’s changing every week. And we’ll keep you updated as it does.
